Dianthus Size, Zones and Sun
Pinks stay compact. Most grow 6 to 24 inches tall, depending on the type, and form neat tufts of narrow, blue-green leaves that look good even out of bloom. They're hardy in zones 3 to 9. Give them full sun and soil that drains. Heavy, wet ground is the one place they don't last.
Dianthus Flowers

Planting Dianthus Bare-root
Soak the roots for an hour, then set each plant with the crown right at soil level, never buried. Spread the roots, firm the soil and water well. Pinks sulk when the crown is too deep, so keep it shallow.
