How We Package Our Plants

When prepared correctly for transit

Dormant bareroot plants have a very high success rate. Our careful preparation means that we able to ship you perennials, ferns, vines, live stakes and mosses year round.

Trees, shrubs and seedlings

Are shipped in the dormant seasons starting the end of October - May.

We dig all our plants fresh, and then place them in our large refrigerated coolers ---  keeping them dormant and in excellent condition.

Depending upon the season and the plant type, we either dig our bare root plants fresh (if it's in the dormant season)  or pull them out of commercial coolers.

Each plant is carefully packed

In accordance to the American Nurseryman standards.

Prior to packaging, we soak the plant roots in cattle feeder troughs with water and terrasorb gel. After the roots soak for 2-4 hours we package in wet paper filler and surround the roots with plastic and then put in corrugated boxes and ship to you fresh.
